The Russian Federation is the largest state in the world. Russia occupies an area of more than 17 million square kilometers – 1/8 of the land. For comparison, Russia is almost 2 times larger than Canada (9.9 million km² ), the USA (9.6 million km²) and China ( 9.5 million km²).

Famous Russian rivers – Yenisei, Ob, Volga, Lena and Amur. The largest lakes of the country: Baikal, Ladoga, Onega and the Caspian Sea.
More than 100 nature reserves, 40 natural and 35 national parks have been created in Russia.
